Pastor’s Blog: Living on Purpose
It is with much concern for the Spiritual condition of American Christiantiy that I approach the topic of Complacency within the Church. Our Commission as Christians is clearly defined in the Scriptures. Before His asscension into heaven Jesus spoke to His faithful followers and to us as the body of Christ, Hear His command in Acts 1:8 "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Whether an addiction, a grieving heart, a broken relationship, fear, divorce; face it the list goes on and on. Whatever you need to recover from the solution for your problem is the Same. Also note that aproximately 3% of each transaction is used to pay a processing fee. We ask that you keep this in mind when ...
Pastor Larry’s retirement
On October 15th, 2011 we held a retirement dinner for Pastor Larry Shreve. Pastor Larry officially retired from Open Door Baptist Ministries on October 1st, 2011, in order to pursue more involvement in Brunswick Christian Recovery Center (BCRC). In a letter he read to the church when he announced his retirement, he said God was opening a door for him which he had been dreaming about for many years. Later he stated, "I don't want to call it resigning because I'm going to keep working [in the church], I can promise you that. I'm not going anywhere, I just hope to ...
We have moved
Our last Sunday in our old building was on 8-21-11. As of Sunday, 8-28-11, we are now at our new location between W&W Diesel and Highest Praise Church (Behind the Fancy Flea) on HWY 17. Celebrate Recovery has also been moved to Tuseday nights at the new location. We hope to have a new sign going up by the road soon. We are starting construction in the back half of the new building, and upstairs, very soon. This will expand the sanctuary and give us room for multiple sunday school classes, office space, and a nursery. We are excited about what God is doing ...
